• Is the event really free?

  Yes! Red, White and Flight general admission ticketing is completely free and open to the community. VIP tickets are also available for purchase and offer exclusive benefits such as chairback seating with direct line-of-sight views of the performance.

• What does my ticket include?

  A whole evening of WOW! Your ticket unlocks the full Red, White and Flight experience—explore the interactive Expo, enjoy a live concert by the Reno Phil, and look to the skies for an awe-inspiring drone show.

• Is the event suitable for children?

  Absolutely! Red, White and Flight was designed for all ages. From hands-on Expo activities to the awe-inspiring drone show, there’s something to inspire curiosity and excitement for everyone.

• What is the event schedule?

  The evening’s schedule includes:

  • 6-8 p.m. Expo
  • 8-10 p.m. Reno Phil Concert
  • 9:45-10 p.m. Fourth of July Drone Show set to the finale of the Reno Phil Concert
    
• What is happening at the Expo?

  The Expo brings together organizations from across the community for a hands-on, interactive experience designed to encourage curiosity and imagination. Attendees can explore engaging booths, from learning about drone technology with the University of Nevada’s College of Engineering to getting an up-close look at instruments with the Reno Phil. Each booth is thoughtfully designed to be interactive, educational, and inspiring for guests of all ages.

• Will the drone show be loud or similar to fireworks?

  The drone show includes hundreds of drones quietly moving in sync to create stunning images in the sky, set to a live performance by the Reno Phil. It’s far quieter than fireworks, making it a great option for those who prefer a more relaxed sensory experience while still enjoying an incredible patriotic show.

  Please note: while the drone portion is quiet, the concert program may also include elements such as cannon effects, which may be noticeably louder than the drone show.

• Do I need a ticket?

  Tickets are required for entry and guarantee access.

• How do I secure my ticket(s)?

  Tickets are only available through our official channels. We are not affiliated with any third-party ticket resellers. Please do not pay for tickets from unauthorized websites.

• Are seats assigned or first-come, first-served?

  General admission seating includes a mix of traditional bleachers (first-come, first-served) and Sections J and K, which offer chairback seating and are available as assigned seats in limited quantities when reserving your ticket online. VIP seating is fully assigned, so your chairback seat with direct views of the performance will be waiting for you.

• What time should I arrive?

  You can arrive whenever works best for you. Red, White and Flight is designed to be flexible so you can shape your own experience.

  If you arrive at 6 p.m., you’ll catch the full Expo and have plenty of time to explore everything before the concert begins. If you arrive later in the evening, you’ll still enjoy the Reno Phil concert and drone show finale, but seating and entry experience may vary depending on availability and whether your ticket includes assigned seating.

  No matter when you arrive, plan to give yourself a little extra time for parking, walking to Mackay Stadium, getting through entry, and finding your seat so you can settle in and enjoy the show.

• What do I do if I lost my ticket?

  Start by checking your email for your confirmation from orders@mail.unr.edu. If it’s not there, you can access or reissue your ticket through the Nevada Wolf Pack App or by logging into your account online.

• Do I need to print my ticket or can I show it on my phone?

  We recommend saving your ticket to your phone wallet when you reserve it so it is easy and ready to go. That said, printed tickets work just as well! However you bring it, just have it ready to scan when you arrive.

• Is parking available?

  General admission ticketholders can access free parking in the surface lots north of Mackay Stadium or the Brian Whalen Parking Complex. Guests who purchase four VIP tickets will receive one complimentary parking pass for the West Stadium Parking Complex right next to Mackay Stadium. ADA parking is also available in the West Stadium Parking Complex.

• How do I find Mackay Stadium?

  Mackay Stadium is located on the north end of campus. Click here to view the map to help guide you straight to the action.

• Will there be security screening?

  Yes. For everyone’s safety, all guests and bags will be screened before entry. Thanks in advance for helping keep the event smooth and secure.

• What bags are allowed?

  Clear bags (12” x 12” x 6”) and small clutches are allowed for quick and easy entry.

• What can I bring?

  You’re welcome to bring blankets, coats, seat cushions (no metal), umbrellas (please keep closed in seating areas), small cameras, strollers, and binoculars.

• Can I bring water?

  Each person can bring one sealed plastic water bottle. Refillable water bottles are not permitted. Water stations will also be available to help you stay cool and hydrated throughout the evening.

• What is not allowed?

  To keep things safe and enjoyable for everyone, please leave chairs, backpacks, large bags, outside food and drinks (excluding sealed water bottles and unless for medical or childcare needs), large camera lenses, banners/signs, tobacco products, and pets at home.

• Is smoking or vaping allowed?

  No. The University of Nevada is a Tobacco-Free Campus. The use of all tobacco-based products is prohibited, including cigarettes, cigars, cigarillos, chewing tobacco, snuff, and electronic smoking devices such as e-cigarettes, vaping products, and IQOS.

• Are animals allowed to attend the show?

  Only trained service animals are permitted.

• Is re-entry allowed?

  There’s no re-entry, so plan ahead and bring everything you’ll need for the evening.

• Will food be available for purchase at the event?

  Yes. A variety of well-known, local food trucks will be on-site offering food available for purchase throughout the event.

• Do food trucks and concessions accept cash or card?

  Food trucks and concessions will be available throughout the event and are cashless. Payments will be accepted by card only.

• What should I wear?

  Dress for a summer evening outdoors! Light layers are a good idea as temperatures can shift after sunset. Comfortable shoes are recommended if you plan to explore the Expo.

• What accommodations are available?

  Mackay Stadium offers ADA seating, parking, elevators, accessible restrooms, and entry lanes. If you need assistance during the event, you can text (833) 833-4842 with your location or speak with event staff.

• What happens if there is bad weather?

  Safety comes first. In the event of severe weather, updates will be shared with attendees. The show may be delayed or adjusted as needed, but we’ll keep you informed every step of the way.
